Wingstop Celebrates Grand Opening in Valley, Alabama
VALLEY, Ala. – Wingstop [www.wingstop.com], the national chicken wing chain that sells one million wings daily, is celebrating its grand opening in Valley, Ala.

The restaurant, located at 3214 20th Avenue, Suite A, will kick off its grand opening celebration Friday morning at 11 a.m. with a Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Event. The festivities will continue on Saturday with a wing eating contest, sampling of Wingstop’s seasoned, one-of-a-kind fries and a radio broadcast from noon to 2 p.m.

This is the first Wingstop for owner and operator Mark Powers. A Valley resident, Powers spent 22 years with a heavy equipment company and then two years doing mission work before deciding to invest in Wingstop.

“Wingstop keeps it simple,” said Powers. “They created great chicken wings and stick with that one, core menu item. They don’t try to be everything to everybody. We already have a strong customer base here and the community loves our product. We look forward to a successful grand opening.”

Dallas-based Wingstop was founded in 1994 and began franchising in 1997. Today Wingstop has more than 650 locations open or under development nationwide. At a time when many chains are struggling, Wingstop has experienced positive comp stores sales for 22 consecutive quarters, and the company recently moved from #125 to #97 on Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Franchise 500” ranking of all leading franchise brands worldwide.
