NFL All-American Raheem Brock Brings Wings to Philly
PHILADELPHIA – Raheem Brock, the All-American defensive tackle for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, is running more than just a football. He’s bringing the country’s best wings to Philly!

Brock and Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. have been in talks for several years about opening in Philadelphia and it’s finally a reality. The store, located near Temple University where Brock completed his undergraduate studies, is the first store from the franchise to be opened in the northeast corridor.

“It’s exciting to have the first store opening in the area and right where I went to school. More than just having a business, this is an opportunity to invest in my community,’ said Brock, who is also a graduate of Dobbins High School in Philadelphia.

The ribbon cutting will be held on Sat., March 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with a grand opening celebration and live broadcast with Radio One Philadelphia starting at 2:00pm. The event will feature Brock’s celebrity friends, giveaways and a wing eating contest.

“We are delighted to be working with Raheem! His commitment to the brand and to his community is what makes this such an ideal match for Wingstop,” said Andy Howard, executive vice-president.

Brock and his team plan to have Wingstop work closely with his foundation Brock’s Kids for a variety of community enrichment and after school employment projects.
